Japanese style Motifs

Although the red brick station building may seem entirely Western in its design, if you look up at the domed ceiling reliefs you will find Japanese style motifs, such as zodiac sign sculptures, samurai warrior helmets, and chinese phoenix. On display in the hallway is the original mould of the zodiac sign sculptures created for the preservation and restoration work. The photo shows the dog, of the zodiac animal.
