This is one of the Man With a Cow series that Nissho began creating in 1968. One who see this painting, must be astonished at how suddenly his painting style had changed. Here, Nissho combines the simplified forms of a man and horse with dynamic strokes and bright primary colors. One can feel a blazing life force in the work. Nissho did not bother using a painting, but scooped the paint directly from the paint can using a painting knife or modified plasterer’s trowel and slapped it vigorously onto the canvas.
