This unfinished still life is believed to have been painted the year that Nissho passed away. As with the unfinished Horse (last work), the grain of the unpainted plywood stands out, and only the main motif of fish bones and green apple peel have been completely painted. Toward the top left, one sees a triangular shape in brown, partially painted. This seems to be the silhouette of a triangular roof. Fish bones and a house. We cannot know what image the artist ultimately had in mind.
